Penguin Symbolic

The animal had been my Facebook profile picture for years. One day(many years later), I felt strange when I noticed that someone else was also using a penguin as their profile picture.

I had never thought about how others might feel. I always believed I was different — I had no strong emotions, no confidence. All I had were three meals a day, and that felt like enough. My mom once told me, “If you can’t even feed yourself three meals a day, don’t fall in love or bring someone else into your struggle.”
